Mobile Library

Somerset County Council provide a mobile library Service for rural communities. The mobile library makes one stop in East Brent and one in Rooksbridge, the stock is exchanged at regular intervals using material from other libraries.

Mobile Library

There is a selection of books on many subjects, novels, large print books and books for children and other materials, such as DVDs and music CDs can be borrowed on request. You can also access the Internet on the mobile library, please ask the mobile library driver for help. Wheelchair access is available on all vehicles. The mobile library driver will help you get on and off the vehicle.

To use the Mobile Library service you need to be a member of Somerset Libraries. You can join by completing a membership form and bringing some proof of your name and current address, such as a recent utility bill or a driving licence. A membership card will be issued to you, which you can use in any Somerset library. If you already have a Somerset library membership card, please show this to the staff. You can also join the library via Libraries West.

East Brent 

The Mobile Library will stop at East Drive, off Strowlands (TA9 4JQ) between: 11.30am - 12 Noon

Visits are on a Friday, every 4 weeks, on the following dates:

20 Jan       9 Jun       29 Sep  

17 Feb       7 Jul        27 Oct  

17 Mar      4 Aug       24 Nov  

12 May     1 Sep        22 Dec

 

Rooksbridge 

The Mobile Library will stop at Little Acre (BS26 2UG) between 12.10 - 12.30pm. 

Visits are on a Friday, every 4 weeks, on the following dates: 

20 Jan       9 Jun       29 Sep  

17 Feb       7 Jul        27 Oct 

17 Mar      4 Aug       24 Nov 

12 May     1 Sep        22 Dec 

 

 

 

LibrariesWest is a partnership between Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset and South Gloucestershire library services.

Customers can use their membership card in any one of the 100 + libraries across the consortium to borrow, return and reserve items, and use the computers to access the internet and office programmes. They also have access to a joint catalogue, which has the facility to interlend all stock, including DVDs, CDs and computer games.

Books can be pre ordered for collection from your local library. Libraries West also has a selection of audiobooks.and over 1500 ebooks
