The full Parish Council meet for a General Meeting once a month, which from 3rd October 2016, will be on the first Monday of each month (with the exception of August when there is no meeting, to discuss all of the parish business. Members of the public are welcome to attend General Meetings of The Parish Council to view proceedings but they are not permitted to speak or take part in the meeting. The Chairman will however, offer, member of the public an opportunity to speak during a 15 minutes open session, prior to the commencement of the meeting.
Planning application recommendations are generally decided by the full council at the monthly general meeting. From time to time however, the timing constraints of a planning application requires that the Parish Council hold an extra meeting in order to make decisions regarding their recommendations.
The full council delegate matters to specific committees from time to time, details of these committees are listed on the Council section of this website. The responsibility of matters delegated to committees remains with the full council. Each committee reports back to the full council at the next available general meeting on any actions that they have taken since the last meeting. The Committee Chairman will hold any such meetings as he feels necessary in order to exercise the responsibilities of the committee.
The Parish Council hold an Annual General Meeting each year in May. The main purpose of this meeting is for the election of Officer to the Council from the Councillors duly elected. Members of the public are welcome to attend the Annual General Meetings of The Parish Council to view proceedings but they are not permitted to speak or take part in the meeting. The Chairman will however, offer, member of the public an opportunity to speak during a 15 minutes open session, prior to the commencement of the meeting.
The Parish Council hold an Annual Parish Meeting each year in April. This is an open meeting for member of the public to attend and speak at the Chairman's discretion. This meeting is a less formal meeting and an opportunity to review the work of the council over the previous year. The Council usually invites speakers of interest to attend this meeting to stimulate discussion on matters for consideration during the forthcoming year.
Light refreshments are served following the meeting, during which time parishioner will have an opportunity to speak to individual counsellors on an informal basis.
The Chairman can call an Extra Ordinary General Meeting at any time to discuss matters which have arisen urgently and for which a decision must be made before the next scheduled General Meeting. As with all other meetings, a decision may only be reached where there is a Quorum (ie a minimum number of Councillors).
